Be kind to other pet professionals
“Words have the power to both destroy and heal. When words are both true and kind, they can change our world.” —Buddha
In an industry where kindness to animals is at the forefront of our philosophy sadly we still occasionally see the opposite when it comes to people? Particulary other pet professionals.
Yes there are some dog walkers, some dog trainers, some pet carers who are spoiling it for the majority of us.
They are intentionally hurting others.
It’s not only childish, unprofessional but can have potentially damaging effects on their businesses.
Your clients do not want to see this. They respect you. They look up to you.
How disappointed would you be if that one person you followed, felt a real connection to, inspired to follow in their footsteps starting intentionally trying to ruin someone else’s business.
I know I would feel let down.
Saddened.
Crushed.
Disappointed
I’ve seen it happen in the media, it’s not pretty. Dreams destroyed as someone’s role model acted completely out of character, perhaps was cruel to someone else and worse still enjoyed doing it.
Kindness is what makes us human.
Kindness towards people and animals.
We are here to help others not bring them down. Even if someone is intentionally hurting you, it’s easy to get defensive, lash out, get your own back. But please take a moment to think about your actions. It’s so much easier to talk to a friend, other professionals.
It’s likely, at some point in our life, we’ve had cruel things said about us too. Try not to add fuel to the fire.
