I am experienced, qualified, fully insured, DBS security checked and canine first aid qualified.
I am a member of International School of Canine Psychology, International Companion Animal Network and Pet Professional Network, ensuring my continuing professional development and that I maintain the highest kind and ethical standards.
In October 2012, after being made redundant, I started my own social care business, pet care was one of the services I offered however, within 6 months, I realised that the only part of my day that really made me happy was being with the animals and my journey began.
We had adopted a Battersea rescue dog in January 2012 who really struggled to cope with her anxiety around people and also had severe separation anxiety, she was the reason I started to study dog training and behaviour, and then along the way we adopted 2 more dogs who struggled with daily life, which included dog to dog reactivity, dog to people reactivity, noise sensitivity and extreme anxiety.
I have also raised and trained a deaf dog, and my dogs have ranged from a Jack Russell to a Dalmation. I am currently pawrent to a Staffie mix girlie and a rescue male Ambull mix, sadly we lost our EBT to canine lymphoma.
I have walked and cared for family and friends dogs for as long as I can remember – from mini schnauzers to a German Shepherd, my aunt had pyrenean mountain dogs. I have also cared for a Stallion named Viking while his owner was at Uni!
I have been around all sorts of animals from childhood, my family owned a working farm and I have worked for an exotic animal importers and a pet shop. I have also been owned by cats, guinea pigs, rabbits, hamsters, snakes, goldfish and koi carp, tree frogs, Chinese water lizards, turtles, tortoises and budgies.
