Moorland Canine makes dogs feel good through Galen Canine Myotherapy© treatment.
My clinic and workshop space in Darley Dale, in the Derbyshire Peak District, specialises in the identification, assessment and treatment of muscular injury, musculoskeletal conditions and associated compensatory issues in dogs.
Using advanced clinical massage, soft tissue rehabilitation techniques and targeted functional exercise, Canine Myotherapy can support your dog’s muscular health throughout all of their life’s stages, promoting optimal muscle function and enhancing their performance, wellbeing and recovery.
Alongside providing 1-2-1 treatments, I run online and face to face practical workshops on a range of canine health and wellbeing issues, empowering dog owners to take a proactive role in their dog’s health.
Galen Myotherapy treatment can support a dog's lameness or altered gait and a range of conditions affecting your dog's mobility.
Treatment can support rehoming issues and nervous dogs as well as the health and mobility of senior dogs.
Treatment can support the conditioning and maintenance of working/sporting dogs, along with pre and post-operative surgery or injury recovery.
As a Galen Myotherapist, I also offer 1:1 support for owners and dogs who for whatever reason can not see a therapist face to face through the fully established Galen Distance Support Programme. Whist not replacing professional treatment this programme provides support for overseas owners, those who are out of the area of a qualified therapist and owners of dogs who may not tolerate one-to-one treatment.
I provide clients with functional exercise plans, customised towards their own dog's specific needs. By focusing on how the dog’s body naturally wants to move, these can work to remove stress on the bones, joints, muscles and ligaments. Correct biomechanics, therefore, results in efficient and natural movement patterns, leading to greater flexibility, a reduction in compensatory pain from poor movement patterns, a potential reduction in injury and an increase in your dog’s overall well-being.
To support your dog's myotherapy treatment, I also offer PEMF Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy; a non-invasive treatment that works at a cellular level, repairing damaged tissues, increasing blood circulation and reducing inflammation.
